Professor Farzad Khosrowshahi takes up the position of Dean at Victoria University, moving from Leeds Beckett University where he has been serving as Dean of the School of Built Environment and Engineering.
The College of Engineering and Science at Victoria University is distinguished by a practical curricula and external commitments to community and industry.
The College is a research leader in the University, and region. Its strengths were recognised in the latest national research quality assessment exercise, Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA). In the ERA 2015 Victoria University achieved outcomes of:
♣ well above world standing (rating 5) in electrical and electronic engineering (including research into control systems and signal and image processing);
♣ above world standard (rating 4) in applied mathematics and mechanical engineering;
♣ world standard (rating 3) in artificial intelligence & image processing, distributed computing and information systems.
